Top 10 Pin Trading Locations
Number 10 - BC Place Stadium
Overview:
The Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games and the Opening Ceremony for the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games will be held in BC Place Stadium in downtown Vancouver. This will also be the site for nightly Victory Ceremonies presentations.
What is a nightly Victory Ceremony? From information currently available, each evening begins with a provincial or territorial celebration, the awarding of the medals to athletes and a concert finale honouring the medallists.
Victory Ceremony Schedule:
18:30 - Provincial/territorial celebration live in BC Place
19:00 - Medals presentation in BC Place and Whistler Medals Plaza
19:30 - Live concert
in BC Place and Whistler Medals Plaza
Potential Pin Trading Locations:
The Organizing Committee has cast a wide net around BC Place, so many of the locations that locals first think about - such as the many entrances or wide walkway surrounding the building - will simply not be accessible.
The main entrances - as well as the approaches to the entrances - seem to be the most logical spot here and there will be three opportunities:
1. At Pacific Boulevard near the foot of Nelson Street
2.
At the seawall near the Main Street - Science World Skytrain Station
3. Off
of Abbot Street near the Stadium - Chinatown Skytrain Station

Special Notes:
Victory Ceremonies for figure skating, hockey and curling will take place in their respective competition venues. Depending on the sport and schedule, Victory Ceremonies for other sports will be presented either at BC Place at night or in the venue immediately following the competition.
