Top 10 Pin Trading Locations

Number 1 - SkyTrain, Surrey and West Vancouver

The final recommendation for the Top 10 Pin Trading Locations for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games is actually three different sites in one report. Looks like we should have called this initiative the Top 15 locations, eh.

Anyway ... these last three also have some of the greatest potential for pin trading and pure enjoyment. They're accessible and affordable and, in the case of SkyTrain, a little out of the ordinary. But that's what the hunt for pins is all about !!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

SkyTrain

SkyTrain's 68.7 km (42.7 mi) of track make it the longest automated rapid transit system in the world and the longest rapid transit system in Canada.

There are 47 stations in the system, which carries 275,000 passengers per day on the Expo and Millennium lines, and 95,000 passengers per day on the new Canada Line south to Richmond and Vancouver International Airport (YVR).

Opportunity:

Purchase an all-day, unlimited travel pass and have the trading come to you. In the process, you'll also discover what makes this city and this region so spectacular ... it's the scenery, the ride and the people, of course !!

The City of Surrey ... the future lives here

The City of Surrey, a proud Venue City of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, will play host to the biggest games-time celebration south of the Fraser River.

The Surrey 2010 Celebration Site is a 13-day FREE winter festival featuring live entertainment, live Games broadcasts, arts performances and on-site activities at Holland Park ... conveniently located just steps away from the King George SkyTrain Station ... another reason to by an all-day unlimited travel pass (see above).

Giant tents and four massive video screens will be set up to broadcast Olympic events in the 24-acre urban park next to the King George Highway, starting on February 12, the opening night of the 2010 Olympic Games.

Among the free events planned for the site are daily shows of the RCMP Musical Ride, top musical acts like Blue Rodeo, 54-40 and Sam Roberts, and winter activities like tobogganing, skating, curling, and arts and crafts.

West Vancouver ... the waterfront community

West Vancouver is also an Official Venue City for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games and plans are in place to have the West Vancouver Community Centre Spirit Square come to life with celebrations for all 17 days of the 2010 Olympic Games.

Join family and friends to watch the 2010 Olympic Winter Games on the big screens in the heated and covered Atrium at Spirit Square and experience the Canadian Winter Sport Showcase where professional dancers perform in, around and on top of the building complemented by a dynamic soundtrack, huge video screen and high tech lighting design.

Evenings will come alive with an array of national and local talent, from rock to pop to classical with live performances, visual artistry, traditional and contemporary music. Dance, sing and enjoy the sounds of performers from Nunavut, Yukon and the Northwest Territories alongside popular local artists.
